First Single for 'Lean In' Filmed by Matt Loewen
It's been two years since David Lawrence & The Spoonful's Debut Album 'Lean In' made deep grooves in the Colorado Music Scene. Their latest Single "Sugar Kush Neon Bubblegum" marks a trio of new songs coming out for 2024. Each song has a full-blown accompanying music video produced by prolific videographer Erik Fellenstein.
Sugar Kush Neon Bubblegum is a song about the struggle to stay present and find purpose in a world that is fighting to keep us distracted and anxious. “It’s the cadence of a man on the run, afraid of himself and afraid of the Sun” The verses outline a man numbing his everyday mundane existence through smoking too much, and working too hard. “I know you want to do it right.. Too bad it’s easy doing wrong”. The uplifted Bridge reminds the listener to: “Slow down, just let it come to you, cause all those things you are chasing, are really chasing you.”
