His celebrated recent album, Lean In, cemented his status, garnering high-praise features in publications like Westword and 5280, and earning heavy rotation on local CO radio. David’ first full-time music project ‘LAPOMPE’ started in 2013 and still tours and performs its blend of classic Django-style Gyspy Jazz mixed with eclectic originals. LAPOMPE is well established as one of the most popular Swing and vintage jazz bands in Colorado with accolades like the Westword Music Showcase Producers Choice award and countless nominations for best jazz band in CO.
His other projects include the ‘Royal Street Ramblers’, an homage to the vibrant music culture of New Orleans, with a full horn section and classic NOLA tunes, and the supergroup ‘The Blind Pigs.’ The ‘Blind Pigs’ is a collaboration with members of internationally touring bluegrass band Rapidgrass and features virtuosic musicianship and combines bluegrass, folk, and original tunes.
David also runs a full service booking agency and production company ‘LPJ Entertainment’. Booking hundreds of acts a year, David has helped provide entertainment for some of the most prestigious events and organizations in Colorado including, Stranahans Whiskey, The Cherry Creek Holiday Market, Union Station, Larimer Square Holiday Market, The Dairy Block, Stanley Marketplace Summer Series, and The Speakeasy Soiree Vintage Jazz Festival.
